hi y'alls. good morning. it has snowed like hell over the past few days, its bluebird out, and i'm stuck in the office casue my goddamned pass is blacked out until Thursday. oh well. i shouldnt complain as my 4 days so far this year have all been powder days.

other than that, after wading out of my mail and whatnot, hopefully i'll be able to (or my best pal eRon will be able to) post soem pics from Margarita night. and what a night it was. actually i felt it was tamer than years past, but then again i stayed much more sober than years past. the photographic evidence will plead its case.

yesterday was a rough trip back, involving sitting on runways for extended periods of time, bumpy plane rides, and bus trips. but i made it back to a few feet of new snow in my yard. the highlight of the day was letting the cats out the car after rescuing them from the cat hotel, and watching Petal leap frog and Sake wade like some sort of stuck pig towards the front door. sad, when that is the highlight of my day.

hope y'all are well and are having a good a relaxing holiday.

so, the holidaze.

i really look forward to Christmas every year. in general i get along quite nicely with the vast majority of my family and overall, usually have an enjoyable time. this year however, had some rough moments. highlights included being enfuriated at my arrogant converted-Christian cousin--but biting my lip (hard), and having a screaming match with my mother while driving the freeways of Los Angeles. oh, and the second visit in the year to the Jonathan Club in downtown LA, which absolutely makes me want to vomit at the precociousness and fakeness of it all. i'd honestly rather have our family thanksgviing at Red Lobster that the Jonathan Club. at least at RL i could revel in true-down-home Americana.

and so it goes.

i have had some good quality time at home and have gotten to visit with some friends that i havent seen in ages. and in spite of my exasperation with my family, i still do want to come back very badly. i've been scouring the Real Estate pages for the last hour or two, and am growing quite frustrated at the state of housing here. but then again, i just saw that a house two doors down from me in ID is apparently being sold for $525,000. i am in bewilderment of that situation, i will have to investigate further when i get home. i didnt buy my home for even half that price, and i am trying to figure out why the lot that is only slightly bigger than mine with a smaller home is being sold for that amount.... that could give me hope....

so, we shall see chitlins. the big review is coming up in January, we'll see if i have the guts to tell my boss that i've had it with the ID. who knows what shall happen. hope you all are having a relaxing Christmas recovery.

please note the following post is courtesy of my dear sister Alexandra. we've had a rough nite, please forgive her. alcohol was definitely in order.

we've endured the usual family traumas, including a right wing bordering fascist cousin, whom not only felt the need to criticize my current boyfriend, but to deny the legitimacy of the gay population.

joy to the world,
love to one and all.
xoxo,
the randall family.

hi.

today i am so flaky/spacey/crabby/just generally volatile. i don't have much reason to be in this state other than the fact that i'm just worn out. i worked all weekend and stayed out late and drank much as well. it was long and tiresome and i've come to the conclusion that i don't much care for sales meetings.

but, on a high note, we did get to ride at Snowbird yesterday and it was absolutely top five of all time. there was about 2 feet of fresh, more in some places where it had blown in. we met up with a local photog who showed us to all the good stuff and had a great time. thats one thing i love about the kids i work with, we can all go riding/skiing together and just charge it. so, it was good.

i'm slammin' to try to get things done over the next day and a half before i get to come home for a solid ten days. i can wait. really. so, likely updates will be spotty til the new year. to anyone i dont see at home, have a rad holiday.

xoxo,
.me

my mind is shot--so i'll offer some random unfinished thoughts....

my latest tv fix, sent me an absolute crushing blow to the heart last night. the whole premise of Average Joes asks if an "average" guy can win over some ex-beauty queen. assumedly, i guessed that yes, that would be the case, otherwise, why would they have the show in the first place? sadly i was way wrong. the girl flew off on a private jet with the model dude, leaving average but fun, sweet, and rich Adam in the dust. those fuckin' tv producers are gonna get some serious hate mail. that was the biggest F-You to the common man i've seen on tv in a while.

last night on the way home from work, faithfully listening to NPR, i heard the greatest segment ever. it was a letter to the Grinch from his dog Max, who assailed him for copping out and joining the ranks of the Whos. I hoped to find a transcript, which they did not have, but if you go here you can listen to the audio. if you have time, i highly recommend it. i sat in my driveway with the car on, laughing.....

ummm. what else. umm, where the hell did Paris Hilton come from exactly? i mean i've known of her existence for some time--she's been on the radar in all the gossip and fashion mags for a while, but this sudden explosion of tv and internet porn publicity is highly convenient. i am totally fascinated by the concept of celebrity due to wealth and status. she has no reason for being so well known other than the one fact that she's rich. i honestly wonder what it would be like to be Paris Hilton for a day....

one last thing--LL Cool J's stylist/production guy/groupie called and ordered 12 pairs of goggs for his latest video shoot. sweet. i haven't got confirmation on the song they're shooting yet, when i do, i'll let you kids know.

i know this is kind of a random smattering of photos, but what the hell. i'm having a hard time concentrating due to the catastrophic amount of work i have to do.... sorry. these are all photos i took over the last holiday weekend.

the cats are always fascinated when i move furniture around--here we had moved a dresser out of the downstairs bedroom for painting--Sake decided it was her new perch.

my latest dork-out hobby--embroidery. the first thing i've ever done, of course i choose a ridiculously elaborate pattern. but i dont think i did too badly.....

i really like my floors--they're super battered and creaky and scratched and probably have a lot of interesting stories to tell. weird? yes.

Ang (the blond) is a freaking crack up. we were playing Dominoes and Christine got out her wacky sunglass collection. Angie is a great photo subject--she's always hamming it up.

me, and Petal, tired.

so, this is the state of affairs of the town i live in. in other parts of the world we have wars, movie stars taking over entire states, and fires and floods ruining homes, businesses and people's lives. here our top item of interest is a rogue deer. i shit you not, this is a real (however tongue-in-cheek it may be) article written in one of our local papers. get me the fuck outta here.....

thanksgiving. i like it. its one of my favs, and i definitely had a good one, but, to be honest--nothing really is quite as good for me as being at home with the fam. call me cheeseball or whatever, just being honest. we had a great meal with some really good people, some of my favorites up here in Snob City, but i miss my fambly and their food and all the comforting elements involved. but, regardless, all in all it was good.

other than that--work is slamming. sooo much crap going on right now...... ugh. having a major meeting with the new design kids tomorrow, as well as hiring a new team manager and getting prepped for the annual Sales Meeting next week. along with all the usual hoi-polloi.... but, at least i had a nice long do a lot of nothing weekend....

hopefully more to report soon. maybe a photo post tomorrow.
