hollah.

i've been spending the last week of my life trying to get up and running on all my new contact devices... trying to be high-tech, i bought a fancy palm phone, and getting it set up to actually work properly with the also new computer has been a chore. its still not quite entirely there, but i'm hoping as of monday i will be remotely recieving emails. kinda scary actually, me who is supposedly on hiatus from the work world--can't quite fully seperate myself.

but, it has been nice. i've discovered that by having the time to dela with general "life" issues during the week--ie. bills, errands, etc., that on the weekends i am actually completely free to do whatever i like. crazy concept. i guess not actually having a home of my own to upkeep helps that whole time availability as well... i miss my house a ton still, but it has been a nice break to not have to worry about mowing the lawn or sweeping the kitchen floor (thansk mom!). today i hung out with some friends in the morning, had breakfast w them, then eryn and i spent the day surfing and lounging and movie-watching. it was quite enjoyable.

am trying to plan some trips. one to Mex with Pete, and probably a road trip up to Nor Cal to visit some frineds in the bay area, then possibly a swing out to Sacto to catch up with Megan, David and crew... i did get a phone call about a possible part-time job opp which could work out perfectly, so we'll see how that works w scheduling and traveling.

its definitely a bit weird when people ask what i'm doing that i say "oh, not a whole lot." i often have to clarify that no, i dont have a job. i've definitely got some surprised looks. but a lot of people are stoked for me too, so whatever. its all good. i cant complain....

hello from San Diego.

its funny to think how much i've bitched and moaned over the last two years about not being here. now that i've been officially home for 24 hours, i still think it has yet to set in...

the move was fine overall. i got my ankle cyst taken care of (remember Adam, i showed you guys at Powell? maybe you were off building rock piles or somethin'). it went well, or so the doctors said. they were for some reason impressed by my pain threshold--ie. i didn't take advantage of the Vicodin (sp?) Rx they gave me and stuck to about one Alleve a day. apparently thats unusual i guess. not to mention the fact that i was up and running around pretty much two days later party-prepping, packing and just dealing--probably not the best recovery plan, but whatever, it worked. Heather flew up and drove me home after the surgery and hung with me for a few days. then she and Pete exchanged duties, and he got to really do the fun stuff--ie heavy lifting and boxing o' shit. we hit the road late on Monday and made it to gorgeous Ely, Nevada (which i do not recommend as a destination). we stayed in the single remaining Motel 6 room, which was a smoking room--awesome. but we survived, stopped in Vegas the next day, did some damage to the credit card at the new fancy mall, and then made it home late last night.

one small problem--my house still has not officially sold. it was under contract to close on Monday, but the buyer is royally lagging getting his loan approved. which as of this Wednesday evening, is getting a bit worrisome. the good side is that A. i have an attorney who i am ready to unleash if necessary, and B. what exactly he would be going after is the 10k of earnest money the buyer had to put down for the escrow. so, i would in the end feel like an asshole if i end up taking this guys money (and him getting nothing in return but a 10 grand hole in his bank account), but he's also not exactly doing me a favor by blowing this deal...

so, we shall see. things could get interesting here shortly.

other than that, just moved in with the mom--cats, houseplants and all. its actually kind of fun. the cats relocation antics are keeping us entertained.

its good to be home. hope y'all are well.
